Arrangements for District Court and Environment, Resources and Development Court from 21 July 2021
Criminal trials
Jury trials in the District Court that have commenced will be permitted to continue subject to direction of the judge.
Jury trials listed to commence next week or later this week will be held for commencement not before next Thursday.
First Directions Hearing Callover
The First Directions Hearing Callover scheduled for this week will not proceed and parties have been or will be contacted by Registry to fix an adjourned date.
Second Directions Hearing Callover
Second Directions Hearing Callover scheduled for this week will not proceed and parties have been or will be contacted by Registry to fix an adjourned date.
Arraignment
All arraignments (Not Guilty and Guilty) scheduled for this week will not proceed and parties have been or will be contacted by Registry to fix an adjourned date.
Urgent matters
For any urgent matters including bail applications, bench warrants and injunctions, contact should be made with the Registry for listing.
All remaining criminal, civil and Environment, Resources and Development (ERD) Court matters
The default positions is that all other matters should be administratively adjourned until after the restricted period. An exception to this default position is where in the opinion of the Judge, Master or Commissioner, the matter is urgent or there is some compelling reason for retaining the current date.
The ERD Court will contact all parties listed in proceedings before it as to the course of action proposed over the announced lockdown period.
